What is a "study"? A room? Where I study? Ugh...not MY study. Not the one I designed. It stayed frozen for many years. Books silently watching me come and go once in a while but never staying. Now, with the advice of powerful women which I hold close and cherish as my friends, I have reinvented my "study" and it is more me now. And I love being in this space that is so "me." This very minute, I sit reading the poetry of Pablo Neruda, drinking a glass of red wine and listening to Cat Stevens before he thought he should be someone else. What a diversion, to believe you should be anything except exactly who you are. So, here I am in my study. Purple hues, my grandmother's chairs now sleek in velvet but still, they will always be my grandmother's chairs to me. A fine choice of words to embrace. A fine new place to study my life looking forward not back.
